Leading Natural Stone Manufacturer

The World’s Marble Comes from Turkey

Turkey, Possessing 40% of the World’s Natural Stone Reserves, Rises as a Global Marble Power

Turkey, which holds 40% of the world's natural stone reserves, is one of the top seven producers globally. With nearly 400 varieties of marble featuring diverse colors and textures, and thanks to the adoption of modern quarrying methods and cutting-edge production techniques, Turkey's presence in the global market is rapidly increasing.

Today, Turkey even exports marble to Italy — long known as the homeland of marble.

Durable and Hygienic

Emphasizing that marble is much more durable, high-quality, and hygienic compared to ceramic and tile, Hurok Marble Chairman Hüsnü Olçar stated:

“Unlike other surface materials, ceramic and tile require at least half a centimeter of joint filler (grout) between them. Every time you sweep or mop such floors, dust is inevitably released from these joints. However, marble is laid edge to edge without gaps. This eliminates the possibility of dirt accumulating between them.”

Not Expensive

Olçar stated that marble, which has been used since ancient times in palaces and temples, is now frequently preferred in hotels, shopping malls, and residential projects. Contrary to popular belief, he emphasized that the price is not expensive.

“The price per square meter starts at 10 dollars and can go up to 60 dollars,” Olçar said. “For enthusiasts, my advice is: natural stone should be chosen by seeing, loving, and touching — not just by looking at a catalog.”

Exporting to 59 Countries

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the company operates in Kütahya with a production area of 100,000 square meters20,000 of which is covered and 80,000 open-air.

The company exports to 59 countries, primarily Italy, as well as the United States, Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, and Australia.

New Products at the Fair

Hüsnü Olçar stated that they will be participating in the UNICERA International Ceramic Bathroom Kitchen Fair, which will take place between February 23–27 at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Beylikdüzü, Istanbul.

He also noted that the fair attracts visitors from abroad.
